E-Reflection of PETA (#4)

Be the Real Teachers!

My 4^th session in PETA subject was very different from the previous sessions. We are assigned to do a micro teaching based on our own lesson plan. As usual we did it in a group. My group chose speaking skill as our objective learning, especially in public speaking. Presenter, news reader, speaker in a speech, etc. are examples of people who have this skill. Briefly, the students are supposed to be able to speak in front of many people in formal situation. Overall, we did the micro teaching well enough even I think actually we can do it better.

I think this activity is very important to us because we can learn how to become the real teachers. The real teachers are not only talking and giving explanation about the material, but also preparing what they are going to do in their class. The preparations are including learning objectives, time allocation, text book, teaching aid (if necessary) and so on. We can not teach our students well if we have not prepared anything.  

Another thing that make this activity is good is the feedback from the others. Getting feedback means we get something that can improve our next works. After we did the micro teaching, there are some feedbacks that we get. We were very thanks to all who gave us the feedbacks.

In conclusion, last micro teaching was very interesting. I think it can help me do my next activity, School Experience Program (SEP). As we know the SEP in this semester we will be assigned to teach although in a team. I hope what I have learnt about micro teaching and making a lesson plan can influence my work in SEP later.  ^_^
