Teacher need give instructions to deliver some materials, assignments or assessment to students in class. To make instructions deliver successfully to students, teacher has to use appropriate model of instruction in class. There are 4 models of instruction, such as direct instruction, lecture-discussion, guided discovery, and group instruction.
In Direct instruction model, teacher gives introduction first to give knowledge to the students and then build students’ understanding about the subject. Students also do practice with teacher guidance after they get knowledge from teacher. In this model, teacher do review from the previous knowledge and review from new material. This model emphasize on developing students’ understanding.
The second model is lecture-discussion, teacher gives lecturing and then discussing with partner in class. This model has benefit which students can do interaction with peers, but lecturing makes student passive in class. But the special thing from lecturing, teacher can use visual teaching aid, like presentation or video.
The special thing from guided discovery is open-ended questions. It can invite students to think critically about some issues and case, also can make students has HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). The last is group interaction. This model emphasize on group project. Group interaction has 5 elements, such as Face to face interaction, Group goals, Individual Accountability, Collaborative skills, and Group processing.
Instructional is similar with teaching, so models of instructional have to fix with the type of students and also the subject.

so arie what is your models instruction that you will use in the learning process??? and why you choose that model? and how about your teacher in the past that they us some of instruction???
like Ms. Ine said it depends on the learning objective. maybe, I will use those 4 models that fix wth my goals for my students.
Most of my teacher when I was in school use Direct Instructional, they used to gives us knowledge first and then practice.
