Micro Teaching

The activity of PETA class on 11st October 2011 was doing micro teaching. It was challenging activity because it needed more preparation. Well, the micro teaching that we have done in this class was based on our lesson plan which we have already organized.
Here the teacher candidate worked in group which consisted of four people. I think it was like teaching team. Then the other learners who did not present their micro teaching had to act as like high school student.
Every group presented their own material. There were various materials that were delivered for example public speaking which was stressed in students’ speaking skill, narrative text which was stressed in students’ writing skill, and also conversation. In delivering material, the teacher candidate applied different model of instruction. The model of instruction which was often used by some group is direct instruction. Then the other model of instruction which was also used by the other group is lecture discussion and there was some group which combined the model of instruction in delivering the material. I think the micro teaching was really interesting activity.
Here I learn many things for instance the way to open the class, the way to introducing the lesson, the way to deliver lesson, the way to give assignment, the way to class the class and also the way to face student. As the teacher candidate, we should understand that our students are different so the way that we will use to teach them is also different.
Based on micro teaching that we have done, we can see that there were many media which we can use in teaching student for example using video, using song, using movie and also using song.
Finally, I assume that micro teaching that we have done in the class really helps me in preparing my school experience.

I'm agree with u mbak ira, that was really interesting activity that can help us to face our future as the new generation of teacher
I think so about previous meeting, we have 7 group presentation and they are the extraordinary people. I also learnt many things from their presentation.

as we know that technology can not be separated form our activity as like teaching. hence many teachers apply technology for helping their teaching.. I think it is good as long as we can handle it and use as appropriate as we can.
Hi Ira, I'm Ira..hehe. Well, I'm wondering, what kind of media that you think will be the most interesting thing to be used in learning & teaching activity?
well, thank for your dropping ..hehehe
for me, actually the use of media depends on the students and class. as we know that we have various of students with different interest. the interesting media is the appropriate media that students need and like in the learning process.
for example we can use video to teach students who have interest in visual or music. then we can combine with other media as suitable as teacher lesson plan.
