As teachers candidate, we have to know about anything around the world, and the most important, we have to know about everything in teaching-learning process. In last meeting, I learnt about four models of instruction in teaching. I thought, it was an important topic for all teacher candidate.

There are four models of interaction;
1. Direct instruction
In this model, Teacher takes an important position than the students. Teacher has to be a guide and a model to students because teacher has a responsibility to make students understand about the lesson. Teacher guides students to be active in the class.
This model spends more time than other models because there are some steps in doing this models. In other way, teacher should prepare well about the lesson because if we want to our students understand with our lesson, who should the one understand about the lesson first? Teacher, right?
2. Lecturer discussion
There are some special things from this model. In this model, prior understanding is always compared with present understanding. It makes student need to have a good long term memory and it could make overload student memory. Other things, this lesson can use virtual instruction and easy prepared.
This model is teacher centered so it can make students passive in the class.
3. Group interaction model
Grouping is needed in this model. The advantages of this model are ; student could talk about their thinking, share their ideas, think productively, help their friend’s understanding if there is someone who has not understand yet about the lesson by sharing, etc.
4. Guided discovery
This model is unique because the teacher become a facilitator and the one who takes control with students. Teacher provides scaffolding to the students. Teacher guides students by giving some questions, drives students thinking and make students become creative to make a definition and more examples about the topic.

Actually, I do not know what scaffolding here and the relation between it and guided discovery ?
the relation is, in guided discovery, the teacher is the facilitator and who takes control of the learning, so teacher absolutely use scaffolding to do this model.
