We had sharing session about School Experience Program in the previous class meeting. I was so happy to share my experience and listen to my friends’ story. The stories were so unique and funny. It was not only in good things, but also bad things. We were very excited to hear the good one and so sorry to hear the bad one.
After sharing session, we had a review activity of learning models. My friends and I had already got the material of this before. In the past, there was also group work and presentation of this. Honestly, in the past classroom activity of learning model, I didn’t really understand and get the key point of those learning models. It was because we were just given short time for reading and understanding the materials, then we presented. The activity was jig saw. Now, I have already understood. It is because I was in a group discussing one of the models (it was Direct Instruction) and walking around to visit other groups. I could get more information of those models and I was free to ask anything which I wanted to know.
Then, here I will share my understanding of those learning models. I do not mean to tell you all the definition, but to tell you my understanding of these.I hope you (Ms. Ine and Friends) to check this whether it is already OK and please don’t be hesitate to leave any comment for my evaluation.
The first is Direct Instruction. It is a model which the teacher is as the main supplier of learning. A teacher delivers new knowledge step by step to students. There is no discussion at all among the teacher and students. Students are totally passive in learning activity. I think this model will be good to be used in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry class.
The second is Lecturer Discussion. It is a model which has lecturing and discussion session. Lecturing can be done before or after the discussion session. The discussion is among teacher and students. A teacher stimulates all students to participate in the discussion. It is easy for teacher to make each student participates by giving a question for each. The expert group of this model said that it is good for History, Culture or Religion class.
The third is Guided Discovery. It is a model which the teacher acts as the guide in learning activity. It is usually by bringing up any issue into the class. That is in order students to give any response (opinion, comment, etc). There is no lecturing session at all. Any answers or opinions are not usually given by students individually. Teachers may modify it by dividing students into pair or group. When it is in group, it does not mean that it is “Group Interaction Model”. That is because the discussion is s
The last is Group Discussion. As the name of this model, it has any discussion or activity in group. There is no lecturing at all. The discussion is totally handled by students in group. Teacher just monitors among students.

what do you mean by "step by step" in delivering material? could you explain it, please?
Thank you for comment,
"step by step" means students may not go on the next material before it is already explained by the teacher. everything depends on the teacher. for example, if the teacher just gives A-K (of material), students just get A-K in learning (no more),
may be that explanation could help you to figure out the meaning of "step by step",
keep spirit & smile *v3a
