Assessment in the class

Assessment..! waaw...

What do you think about it? What do you feel when you heard that word? What is assessment, actually?

This is my 9^th of PETA course. The class started with the nice activities. It was about drawing. Yeah, it was comfortable because it was fun. Then we shared together with the other friends. I think it was interesting activities in the opening of class. Hopefully, I can do the same thing as creative as I can when I have teach. After that Mrs. Ine gave us some questions about assessment. According to me assessment is the way to get the information of our students about understanding the students with the lessons. As a teacher candidate we should be known about assessment and it is should be applied in the classroom.

The assessment which gave to the students should be valid. It mean that the topic will be tested should be based on what students have learned. So, the teacher know are the objective was achieve by the student. Not only that, the assessment also should be effective. In this occasion, I got an inspiration if the key of assessment effectiveness is feedback. So, student will get the feedback from their job. In my mind, feedback is important to increase knowledge of the learner. So, the students know the error of their job and the right answer and it also will help students to improve their ability.

Why some people afraid with it, especially when they did not studied when the assessment coming. According to me, many people perhaps think that assessment as a ‘monster’ that will kill them. It was horrible. Whereas, assessment is determine how their understanding of the lessons but sometimes the values ​​obtained are very influential on motivation to learn. Everyone wants to gets a good score in their assessment result but, it was not as easy as I think of course it was based on the assessment. When they get the bad score they will despondent with their selves and lost motivate to study. It was happen with me when I get the bad score in my assessment. Yeah, I felt bad, stupid and unmotivated to study. But when I got good score, I am proud about it and it was increase my motivation to study. It was show that how important the assessment score in our live.
