In the last session of PETA, Miss Inez used Fishbowl method in the class. She passed the blank paper to the whole students, including me. Then, she asked my friends and me to draw anything that shows students’ feeling, then she asked all of students to bring the picture and stand in front of class to make a circle. After that, she asked students to make a small circle in the center of it. The next instruction that she give is find a peer to share what the picture describes about.
After that, people in the small circle replaced with another friend who would like to share the opinion about examination. When people in the small circle discussed about a topic, students in the big circle had to pay attention and listened to the conversation in the center. Miss Inez asked students to make group of four and I had chance to work together with Ira p, Jajang and Fitri. And all we had to do was answer the question that provided by Miss Inez. It was about assessment, evaluation, formative & summative assessment, and reflection about what do we felt when we studied in Senior High School and study in SSE. The last but not the least, there was reflection about PETA.
I still remember that, Assessment is the activity to assess the students and giving feedback to the students for enhance students in learning. Feedback makes students realizing their strength and weaknesses. I learnt about formative assessment and summative assessment. Formative assessment is kind of ongoing assessment while the summative assessment is assessment which makes students sum up all materials that have been learnt. However, the summative assessment holds in the end of learning progress. I got difficulty to differ the assessment and evaluation. Fortunately, Miss Inez said that the thing that makes assessment and evaluation different is a judgment which happens in evaluation.
