In last class meeting, we watched a video about “Thematic Learning”. After watching, we were divided into group of four to analyze the effectiveness of that learning. I love discussing in group and present it. Unfortunately, there was no presentation session from each group, so there were just some of us who shared.
I think Thematic Learning is not really effective to be applied in classroom. Moreover if it is the combination of three subjects, it will be hard for teacher to focus on the main goals. There must be something ignored. I think it is too complicated in the activities which can achieve some goals in the same time. Then, we were asked to analyze the opening, activities, assessment and closing. After finishing the discussion, we had a class discussion. I think it was not effective enough, because not every student contributed to this big discussion. Might be it was because limited time again.
After those activities, we were asked to make a lesson plan in group. It was really short time. In making a lesson plan, I cannot get the difference between indicator and objective. It seems like they are same. I think my group should revise our work, because my group’s lesson plan was too simple. I love this kind activity, because we have not told before about what the good and correct work looks like. At first, my friends and I were worried to make any mistakes of this, but in doing this work we realized that we were still learning and it must not be the right and perfect one.
That activity (giving a work before giving any explanation) sometimes pushes m to be spirit and not frustrated in learning because nothing right or wrong of this, but in the other side I will face this easily and simply because if I am correct I will not get nothing, neither I am wrong.

Apologies to your group and other groups that did not get the opportunity to present the group work. We did not have enough time to accommodate that. Yet I already gave everyone, and all groups, opportunity to speak up and comments on the presentation. It's another way of presentation. You can make use of this opportunity to present your ideas even though you are not the one/s standing and presenting before the class.
As I have already mentioned in the class, it is possible to make the thematic learning effective. Yes, it is time consuming in the preparation as you need to combine different subjects and competences into one learning experience. But if many teachers out there have already applied that, you can surely do that. To be effective in thematic teaching is a learning process - you learn by doing and improve yourself throughout the process. Don't say it's difficult until you try. You'll find it challenging but exciting.
The differences between indicators and objectives - while indicators describe what students will be able to know and do in a performance task, they may not necessarily be specific enough for a teacher or student to be able to assess a given lesson or activity within the broader task. Therefore, as part of the planning process, teachers may have to articulate more specific learning objectives do help students understand how they will be assessed both formatively and summatively on a daily basis. A daily objective is observable, measurable, and specific.
Challenge yourself to learn new things and you will be rich in knowledge, skills and ideas. Be a learning learner! :)

Good reflection, Fit... ^_^
Anyway, you said that, "After finishing the discussion, we had a class discussion. I think it was not effective enough, because not every student contributed to this big discussion. Might be it was because limited time again".
If you're a lecturer, what will you do to solve this problem?
M. Mufarrikhin:
Fit, why do not you agree with thematic?
it will make more effective, right?
Ms. Ine,thanks a lot,,,
Afilin@ One way to solve that is giving an opportunity for each student as Ms Ine did in the discussion after last jigsaw in classroom.
Farikh@ yes it's effective to short the time, but it will be a bit hard to focus on the learning goals (there must be some learning goals).
