When I heard that one of the subjects in this semester named PETA, my mind was running. At first time, I don’t know what it means. I guess it related to Dora the Explorer (Of course not! Forget it :D). But later, I know that PETA is shortened of Principles of Effective Teaching. Not only I get the new subject, but also I have a new lecturer for this subject. Her name is quite long Martinse Constantina Nabu Bois. But don’t worry, you can call her by only using 3 letters. Miss Ine, cool right?
In this first session, we talk about our memorable teachers (The best and The worst Hehehe). This activity makes me flashback to my senior high school era. I just think it’s funny to remember good and bad moment in that era, it makes me laugh how innocence I was.
While learning process was running, I reflected neither my best teacher nor my worst teacher left their own memory on my mind. I remember my best teacher is my english teacher in senior high school. Her name is Mam Rismauli. I really like the way she taught me. She is really care, passionate and patient. She taught me “something” that I never had before (really different with other English teachers I had). Other thing that I like from her is her accent. She uses British accent. It sounds really extremely cool!
One bad story comes from my accounting teacher. She is mean, lazy and fussy. In this session, I conclude that when the students don’t enjoy the lesson (feel anxiety etc.). It seems that the lesson will not be delivered successfully and vice versa. So, let’s be an effective teacher who could meet all the goals they made :).
