It's a lesson plan!

“What should I do next? Should I play a game or giving another material? I really have no idea.”

                Out there, we may hear some teachers grumble the statement above, it is because a single problem: they do not know what else to do during the class. Of course as a teacher candidate we do not want that kind of thing happens. We absolutely want our class to run smoothly and successfully attain the class objectives. We definitely do not want our class to turn into a mess because we do not have any plan to do in the class. That is why we need a lesson plan.

                On the second meeting in PETA class, I learned again about how to be an effective teacher with an effective teaching. One of the ways to attain it is to make a lesson plan before teaching the students in classroom. In making a great lesson plan, we have to decide what kind of learning objectives that we want the students to attain. We also have to consider their needs in learning. The most important part, we have to avoid the twin sins (Wiggins and McTighe, 2005) in teaching. The twins sins itself consists of activity focused teaching and coverage approach teaching. Those can make the teacher busy to cover all of the materials and then ignores the students’ understanding.

                After I learned those stuffs, I hope that I can make a great lesson plan to help me teaching in classroom later. I also hope that I could be an effective teacher with an effective teaching for my students. Above all, I hope I can apply all the things that I have got and will get from PETA class. J
