My first E-Reflection- an Introduction of PETA
In the first time of the beginning when I have Principles of effective teaching and assessment (PETA) class session, I feel rather confused about this course, because PETA is one of the courses that I have never learnt before. But, during the class session finally I can know that when we talk about PETA, it means that we are going to talk about how to develop our strategies and assessment in teaching leaning process. Wow…wow. Wow... It is amazing thing, isn’t it? In the second semester, I also learnt how to make some strategies in teaching leaning process, but it was different with what I am going to learn in the third semester now. In the last semester, I only focused to the strategies. But, in the semester now, I am going to learn how to develop my strategies in teaching learning process much deeper than in the second semester which is only focus in making strategies by understanding their multiple intelligences. Besides, I also can know how to make some assessment in the good and the right ways for my students. PETA is one of the ways that can help me in making an effective teaching and assessment to the students. So, that is why I really have to know and understanding well in learning this course.
I felt happy when I got this course at the first meeting because the lecturer used a discussion group with making a class agreement before. She also gave me a questionnaire as a measure of the first meeting during her class. The thing that I think she is different with other lecturer is in her slide presentation, she gave me a words that could be as wise words about teaching as a good teacher. I hope later probably, movie media can become a part of PETA’s course in explaining the material. It will increase the class become getting more having fun in learning PETA’s course.
I can take many more great points that to be a teacher I also have to identify and analyze which ones are effective teaching and effective teachers. For the reason, being a good professional teacher, I have to be able to use both of those criteria. I also have to consider both of those criteria with the material that is discussed. Besides, I should look back through what my most memorable and good teacher did in his way of the teaching when I was a student of him. It will become as a reflection for me if I want to be a good teacher. I can take some good things from him but I do not have to take a bad things.
I can imagine that I am going to be really a high quality teacher, when I get all knowledge from this course. I realized that Not all students of others university who can get this wonderful course. That is why I have to say thank you so much to my beloved campus, the Sampoerna School of Education (SSE) and also to the lecturer of this course. I have to use all best my effort.
