PETA Week1: Introduction

To be honest, I don’t have any idea why do I want to become a teacher.  All I want to do, dealing with my job in the future, is to help people and not to work in the office. Then, I happen to be a lucky person that chooses SSE as my school. Here, my passion becomes a teacher greater and even more since I join PETA course. I got a lot of interesting stuff that teacher can do to their students.

Principles of Effective Teaching and Assessment (PETA) course is important to all teachers to be. Many teachers do not know how to be an effective teacher. In my previous school, I should admit I don’t like mostly teacher there. They are smart people, they have graduated in such a good university. Unfortunately they do not know how teach. So, we couldn’t accept the materials clearly. And the result is we hardy got many things. 


What they often to do are only stuck in one method, drill and practice and sometimes listening to them every single day. They also like to talk out of content, and then what happen next is the materials not finished on time. The worse is the assessment. I hate how my teachers assess their student. Sometimes, it’s illogical. One of my lady teachers give a good mark mostly only  on boys. They are also judgmental. They judge student who can’t answer question in the first time is such a stupid student all the time. They are also subjective, very kind to student they like, to student who have a rich family, to student who can give them advantages, something like that. I don’t want to be a teacher like them, to be sure.


Even there are many ineffective teachers; there are also several effective teachers. They are kind to every student. Smart and know how to teach students, so they deliver materials clearly. There are a lot of activities in the class. They are always inspiring us to be a good people. Those were my teacher in elementary school. Pak Candi, Pak Tadji, Bu Kasmulik, Pak Gozali, Bu Asih, and all of them are goooooooooooooooooooooooood teacher: ) 
Someday, I want to become a teacher who can inspire my students.
