PETA: Microteaching

PETA: Microteaching
By: Budi Trisna
In the previous meeting, we did microteaching. It is very amazing microteaching. to be honest it was not the first time we did microteaching we have done in English Structure in the second semester. However, in this microteaching I felt so different because at that time we had to teach based on the lesson plan that we have made.
In that microteaching, Ika, Ella, Brili and I were applying group interaction method. In our lesson plan, we were focus on public speaking. In our lesson plan, we conducted three main activities. They are introduction and review the lesson, activity (group activity, watch movie, brainstorming, write a speech and sharing), and the last is reflection (giving homework, ask student’s feeling about the course and closing).
Microteaching is very useful for us, because through that activity we knew that on learning process, we could combine teaching method as long it is match with our objective in the course and we could prepare ourselves to become teacher-assistant in the next week.
My expectations for the next course are become good teacher assistant and team teaching in school visiting. Then, I hope can observe and analyze kind of teaching methodologies in the school that I have to visit.

trisna, why do you think that teaching with lesson plan is harder than without?
