Reflection Journal for Teaching Assistance

After observation in SMA 54 yeah I get many things from there. In this school experience program there are two phases during observation that are in the first week observation and the next week was teaching. In the first week I have observe my teacher master. During her class she have many things do in the class and class feel enjoy. She always starts the lesson with review the last material and continues with new material. She always persuide students to speak English in class by discussion, and giving open-ended question.

Well, October 25, 2011 was my second day teaches in SMA 54. I have many experiences from that. Erwin and I were going to teach XI IPS 1and 2 and we learn about the present perfect tense.  We open the class with take attends enlist and after that review the last material. Then I give them open-ended question about what is present perfect tense. I have divided them into 5 groups. I give them some puzzle to arrange it and then after that students make conclusion about that game. After that we gave them article about “Laptop as student’s friend” to analyze the present perfect tense in that article.

The last day was on October 27, 2011. I have taught alone because my friend was sick. I felt difficult to handle the class but finally I can handle it well.  On that day I learn about present perfect tense based on lesson plan which have prepared before. Actually this lesson was given last meting so I just review the material. I feel happy because I can teach them individually. School experience program give me many experiences. I was learning about how I can handle the class, make them enjoy to study. I was very happy teach in SMA 54 especially in XI IPS.  I got many experience and knowledge during this program.
