This is the next of my reflection of PETA class. But before that, let me tell you about my story that relate with this topic. In the beginning of second semester, I learned Bahasa Indonesia. In that course, we had to make a summary of Bumi Manusia book for literature circle activity. At that time, I did not know why want to make the summary in picture form (it’s like a comic). So, I tried to ask to Mr. Iwan whether I allowed. He gave me the answer that I did not predict before. I thought that he would answer “No, it is Bahasa Indonesia class. It is not art class!”, but his answer was, “Yes, of course! I cannot wait for the result!” As the result, I learned Bahasa Indonesia easier and more comfortable than before (senior high school).
What Mr. Iwan did is an example of the integration between learning styles and multiple intelligence, which is the topic that I reflect now. Next, the integration of those items is called integrated intelligence.
Let’s talk about learning styles of the students. There are 4 styles of the way learners learn a particular course; Mastery learners, Understanding learners, self-expressive learners, and interpersonal learners type. Mastery learners feel enjoy when they learn something concrete. For understanding learners tend to learn a course from theories and or questions (abstract things). The third style is my type, self-expressive. I love to do my assignments by relate them with my emotion or everything that I like. And the last is interpersonal learners that are people who love to work in small or big group. These styles show us how different our students as an individual in a class.
As the teacher candidate, we may have already confused knowing our students to be are different. But, there are also important things that we cannot separate from the students that is multiple intelligence. Multiple intelligence I stated here means the model that has brought by Gardner. What will we do as a teacher candidate?
By knowing this issue, we can make more creative learning environment because the activities that will be used are various. As the addition, from this issue we can define a best way how to teach our students because we know the students well (their learning style and multiple intelligence).

learning style can be divide in many ways. what we learn in the LTM course about learning style is different with what you explained in this post. i feel confused which one the better concept of learning styles. when i do teaching i am not sure which concept should i choose in considering my students' learning style. would you like to help me? which one is the better?
Hi, great question..
The problem actually is not better or worse. But, one is detail, and other isn't. you may review it by yourself .. in my opinion, if you review learning style from LTM class, you will find it more detail. meanwhile, when you review from my reflection, you will get info about learning style in general (I mean more general).

I'm wondering, as the teacher candidates, what should we do to find out about our students' multiple intelligences if the case is that we're a new teacher who doesn't know yet about our students? It will take time to know them, right? So can we avoid to teach them "inappropiately" regardless their intelligences because ouf our ignorance as a new teacher? Thank you. :)

As a new teacher, yes definitely we need time. We also can not avoid doing a mistake. What should we do then? We can try to conduct a learning that compile some of integrated intelligence menus at the first meeting. At that time, we can also ask them to tell themselves in a piece of paper. So, from the papers we will know briefly about our students personality. Along with the time, our teaching skills will be better and better ..

I don not think so, learning styles grouping is based on the best way that such student experiences when they study. So, for mastery learners style, they are not include in understanding learners style.
