In the previous meeting, I got topic about cooperative learning. Before I read it, I knew that refers to group interaction in model of interaction. Cooperative learning is a small part of group interaction. Based on my understanding, cooperative learning is similar with team works. Students who have different levels of ability are helping each other to improve their understanding of the subject. They are responsible about their teammates in order to reach the goal.
Cooperative learning has 5 elements that can make difference with competitive and individual learning. First, positive interdependence, each member of the group must give contribution to the other, such as take part to do tasks. Second, face-to-face interaction, the group can sharing, solving problems together, discussing, checking for understanding directly to the members. Third, individual and group accountability, teacher gives the test or assignment to check the understanding of each members. Fourth, interpersonal and small group skill, this is about leadership, decision-making, trust-building, communication, and conflict-management skills. Fifth, group processing, this is about reflection from the group, such as discuss about how well they are achieving the goal.
There are some activities that can apply cooperative learning, such as jigsaw, think-pair-share, three-step interview, roundrobin brainstorming, three-minute review, numbered heads together, team pair solo, circle the sage, and partners. Cooperative learning has strength at social relationship, oral communication, and learning experience. Those activities make cooperative learning more varies and helpful for the students in the class

As we all may know that students have different multiple intelligences that effects to their learning style, then what will you do to the students who are lack in social interaction such as Intrapersonal student or those who like moving such as kinesthetic students?
What a nice reflection Ari...n.n
Anyway can you list to me all the types of group interactions? I have heard about collaborative learning... What is difference between collaborative and cooperative?
@ Ein : cooperative learning activities are varies. so, teache can also put some multiple intelligences in the group activities, such as intrapersonal student, teacher can use think-pair-share. first, student has to understand the topic by herself/himself and then share it with pair.
@ weni : as I know, in cooperative learning, the instructor is the center of authority while collaborative learning, the instructor give authority to the small group. but, both of them is still team learning. for example, cooperative learning : students are work in group to do some activities. the accountability of each members are needed. collaborative learning : lecture and students can sharing about assessment through internet.
about the list types of group interaction, from the process side, there are two types of group interaction, such as online and face to face interaction.
