Another great story, Teacher :)

Last Tuesday of the 1^st November 2011, was the first time for me and my friends to attend PETA class after we joined School Experience Program. It was a fascinating day in PETA class because we shared about our experiences in teaching. I found so many interesting stories from my friends’ experiences. Those stories could make me laugh, curious or even shocked. Before I heard about those stories, I felt like my partner (Ika) and I were the most miserable one, but after the sharing time, I knew that I had to be thankful for what I have got. Moreover when some of my friends told us that they had a worse experience than mine.

Some of them were Ella and Gona. They taught in different schools, Ella was at SMA 43 while Gona was at SMA St. Theresia. Ella shared her story about one of her students who was bullied by her classmates at that time. She also shared about how she and other SSE students were compared with the students from another university. I often laughed every time she told about the things that she did when she faced those problems, moreover when one of the teachers there teased her.

Different with Ella, Gona and her teaching partners were suppressed by the students. The students kept complaining about their pronunciation or even laughed at it. I did not know why, but I felt annoyed when I heard that. I could not imagine if I was in their position. Beside that annoying story, Gona’s story also made me laugh. It was when she told about the mentor teacher who was “money-oriented”. I could not forget the way she imitated the teacher and said, “My bag is 1 million rupiahs.”

From the story that I shared above, I can conclude that the last meeting in PETA class was very great. Those stories made me think once again to be thankful for every experience that I have got so far and to keep improving my skills, my patience, and more aspects in my life in order to be a great teacher and a great human.
