Yesterday, in PETA course, my classmates and I had a sharing session. We talked much about our personal experience during SEP. I got the first turn to share. Actually, before attending this class I had shared to my friends about what happened in the school. From this session, I got more understanding about what happened in many schools. I thanked to God. In fact, not only me who felt sad because of the things happened in school. The thing that I can conclude is many teachers still do not know about their profession as teacher. Many teachers, who are money oriented, have no full intention to teach, teach as a last choice of their life and think that teacher is not a noble profession. Well, everyone has his/her opinion. I love this session so much.
After that, we were asked to recall our knowledge about models of instruction. I also love this session. Honestly, I did not understand about it clearly. I tried to ask to some of my friends and they had different understanding about it. Well, it made me more confused. Fortunately, after this session we all have the same understanding about models of instruction. My classmate and I (my group) had unique way to make us easier to remember about the models of instruction. For each model we thought one lecturer who uses the model in our class. The first is Guided discovery. Ms. Vera uses this model. The second is group interaction. Pak Pri, Pak Teguh and Ms. In use this model. The next is direct instruction. Guest lecturers usually use this model. The last is lecturing discussion. Bu Rosa uses this model in delivering material. Actually, those lecturers do not only use one model but sometimes they combine the models.
Group working in this session was different. Ms. Ine gave five role plays for each group. There were encourager, recorder, facilitator, illustrator and (I forget the last). I learned from this. I think that role play for each person in group will help teacher to make the students get involved in the group. Well, I will apply it later.
