In the last class meeting of PETA, Ms. Ine said that we had the guided discovery in learning activity. I thought that it was group discussion, because the activity was fully in group which is ended by the presentation. Ms. Ine told more about why it was a guided discovery. It was because in the beginning of activity Ms. Ine gave a topic to be discussed by students and let them to explore it. Honestly I am still confused in this. It is ok for me to give the explanation of what is group discussion and guided discovery, but it is a little bit hard for me to recognize those instructions in reality.
There were five topics which we discussed. I thought it was just a brief explanation and presentation of each group, but actually it was so clear explanation and took so long time. Honestly I want to say that I did not really follow the presentation because it was so boring. It got worse because I did not have the material of other group presentation and there was a topic which had ever been discussed before. I also found some things of material which is discussed in other subject (Language Teaching Methodology). There were four groups which already presented their topic. My group has not shared the topic because the time is limited.
I want to say thank you again for the cake. It really surprised us. Believe it or not, we love to be given any chocolate or cake although we are already up to seventeen.
