Sixth e-reflection

The PETA session we had a while ago is the first one after finishing Mid Term Test. It was fun to be back in class again. There are some topics being forgotten by Miss Ine or needed to be reviewed again in order to get details precisely. Like Multiple Learning Style and Intelligence, Effective Learning and Teaching, Developing Lesson Plan, Cooperative Learning, and also Differentiation. Still for now I would just reflect about Effective Learning and Teaching since it was the topic my group discussed about.

Talking about Effective Learning and Teaching, we should reconsider teachers and students role in the classroom. Effective Teachers makes Effective Learning, the same held good for Effective Teaching and Effective Learners. “One effective teacher is extrovert, when one is introvert. One is more sensible, while others are emotionless. One is serious, once one is thoughtful. There were various ways which professional teachers could use and still be highly effective (Snowden, 2005). It was not using the right model of instruction in the right class. It was more like managing different activities in the classroom setting. Basically, there were nothing like the best activities or model of instructions of all.

It was teacher task to make up their mind about the activity used for certain topics. Teachers, who knew his /her students well, will conduct a meaningful and enjoyable activity. Considering the activity from teachers and students side would make both teachers and learners satisfied. Since, the objective could be reached and students enjoyed and got the benefit from the activities throughout the lesson.

I was interested knowing Effective Teachers have high expectation to their students. They gave positive thinking, believing their students to reach the lesson objectives. Instead, lowered students self esteem, high expectation were going to help and encourage it. Like wise man said, all is well ends well.
