1st PETA Reflection

In the first Principles of Effective Teaching and Assessment class (PETA) class (9/20), my classmates and I learnt about what and how effective teaching and assessment are. Miss Ine, our lecturer, started with questions, "How is effective teaching?" and "How is effective teacher?”. We were divided into groups and asked to explain how they are based on our own understanding. After we all explained, she then give corrections and a brief explanation about those.

She asked us to tell about our two unforgettable teachers, the good and the bad. Suddenly I remembered my good Math teacher in Junior High. She is kind, explain well, understand to her students, and what I like the most from her is her smile which often showed. For the bad one, I had another Math teacher in Junior High, she was really different from my previous Math teacher. I was hard to understand what she taught, she even didn’t show a good smile.
At the end of the session, she asked us to write our expectation toward the PETA course. I wrote my wishes in hope that I want to be able to make an effective lesson plan and a good rubrics for assessing.
