Interaction Model in Teaching

“Guru kencing berdiri, murid kencing berlari” that quote show that how big role of teacher to the students. Its mean teacher is example of the students. If teacher do anything wrong so students do. That is why the teacher mush be given the good model for the students.
            Tuesday, 4 October 2011. This is the 3th session meeting with Principles Effective Teaching Learning by Mrs. Ine which is very amazing because here I get surprise with the presentation lesson plan which is not yet have preparation before. In this session we are talk about model of teaching that is the direct-instruction model, group interaction, lecture discussion, and guide discovery.           
Direct Intraction model, this model have some characteristics that are reviewing the previous material, presenting new material in clear and logical steps, providing guide practice, giving feedback, etc. This model used the social cognitive theory of Bandura with concept  of modeling. That is the teacher as a role model of the students. In this model the students cannot solve the problem or perform a skill alone but can be successful with help of teacher or usually it is called by zone of proximal development.
Then, group interaction in this model includes face to face interaction between one student with the other student, group goals, individual accountablility, collaborative skill, and group processing. This interaction can make students to encourge students to share information to each other. Besides that this interaction can help students to solve the problems by placing students in learning situation, this interaction also make student encourage students to ask for and give help, etc.  
The next model is lecture discussion that is model the teacher usually review the material by asking question with the students and then give the new material with related with the previous material . in this interaction lectures are ineffective for many because usually the activities from this interaction are the students ususally the lectures put students in passive roles by encouraging them. Besides that thi interaction also make students less disruptive, because just some of students who have take places. Then in this interaction the lectures do not allow teachers to assess learning progress during interactive lesson.
Then the next interaction is guided discovery. In this interaction teacher is as a gueided for the students in the class. In this interaction also the teacher give the interaction and review, and then give the question with open-ended question, closure and application. So I think Interaction model in classroom is important because it is makes understanding the students. For this lesson I can learn how I can share the information with good model to the students in the teaching so the students will be understood easily with the material.
