In this week, my master teacher asked my friends and I to teach the class individually. He gave the topic to teach and arranged the shedule for us. He only gave us the class X and class XII to teach because he considered the students of class XI are terribly rebel and hard to handle. I just laugh and recalled the memories when I was student in class XI.
The teacher asked us to teach about report items for class X and description text for class XII. Actually, I was so nerve whenever my master teacher asked me to teach individually, not as a team. Mentally, I was not ready for that but I just took it as a chance. I knew I would do many mistake or being the target of bullying in that class but I just vanished that bad thoughts.
In the X day, I taught class XII Science III. My master teacher warned me that they are fond to chat and talk. Suddenly when I was in the classroom, my master teacher told me that he only gave 45 minutes to replace him because the students would present about exposition text. I was shocked because I already arranged the activity for 90 minutes. So I vanished the ice breaking and focused on my goals. Sometimes, my master teacher helped me to shut them up. I closed that session by writing the reflection.
My master teacher was very busy with the bike competition and guest from Ambon in this week. Fortunately, I was still able to interview him. He prefers to give individual task rather than group task because he prepares his students to join the best university, not only passing the national examination. He always suit his planning with the condition rather that exactly follow the lesson plan. He said he often use high intonation to show his enthusiasm to students.
He always give time for “shy” students to perform presentation rather than skip his/her chance to present. He told me that in the beginning of semester, he asked students who can’t understand about english to raise hand. Then he will mark the certain students to see his/her improvement. He admitted that he face a plenty of trouble while teaching such as lack of instrinsic motivation and spirit, stress feeling and he said the slow learner includes as trouble.
