The first week of my school experience was very interesting. I was in SMA 82 Jakarta. The students, the teachers and also the fasilities in this school were good. This week I had a task to observed my mentor teacher while he was teaching in the class.
I observed his classes. I entered in X grades. His classes were good. When we obserbed him, He taught the class without any preparations. I also did not see the lesson plan. I said that he was tired so he asked students to go to language lab. He gave students some songs and students had to find the missing lirics in the text.
He began the class by usual opening than he introducing the lesson that he gave some instruction about the activities. After students understood about the activities, He started the songs and repeated it twice. While doing that, there were some technicque troubles so some songs was repeated three times. After doing that, teacher asked students to collect their tasks and he closed the class.
The class was not really effective because the teacher taught them by no preparation. Otherwise the class atmosphere was not really good because some students complained about the Air Conditioner. The class was hot because the AC could not be opperated. This condition made the learning process did not be affective.
If I become the teacher, I will prepare the lesson as good as possible. I never start my lesson without any preparetion and lesson plan, because reaching the objective of the lesson is very important. I will ask my students to study in language laboratory if the lesson is listening. I will follow the sylabus.
This is my reflection about my first week of school experience in SMA 82. You could take the good lesson and you might leave the innapropriate lesson.
