Miss Ine would told us about assesmen, this upcoming weeks. She promised, and gave it away a few days ago. The way she taught it, is quite interesting. Since the hint of it given in the middle of class icebreaker. The icebreaker was fun, it succesfully draw our attention. She did it so weel, we were not even realized the topic had already moved from from ice breakers to the main material. I would definitely use that activities, later.
Eventough it felt like de ja vu, because we had already learnt about assessment in Language Teaching Methodology class, the topic still caught my interest. Somehow seeing it from this subject point of view was a little different. It proved that teaching and assesing students need not be boring. I also noticed, there are many types of tests. Two of them, grab my attention like norm-referenced test and screening test.
I do believe somehow norm-referenced test is needed, it might be really useful in order to make class evaluation. So, we would know the class average English skills. Screening test often found in some test. Like TOEIC test for example. The test’s participants only have few seconds to read information given, later on they had to answer bunch of question without looking at the previous information. Since the monitor screen showing the question list instead of the information.
By learning this topic I hope I could be a toughtful teacher. It takes time to be one. Giving feedback to students and evaluating the activities and their proggres could not be done in a day. People have been saying for ages, there is no perfect teacher. But one try hard to.

A nice posting, Natasha :)
Actually, I'm wondering about your opinion towards screening test. Do you think it is effective or not?
Thank you :)
